Arsenal's Charity of the Season 09/10

Arsenal's Charity of the Season

Dear Austria (Tirol) Supporters club,

On behalf of the patients, parents and staff of Great Ormond Street Hospital, thank you for your generous donation of £110 that has been passed to us by Jill Smith at Arsenal. We are extremely grateful for your support and all your efforts, please do pass on my thanks to the whole supporters club and to everyone who supported you.

We are delighted to have been chosen as Arsenal’s Charity of the season for 09/10 and are looking forward to working with you over the rest of the season.  Arsenal’s support will help the hospital build a new lung function unit for children who have difficulty breathing or sleeping.  These problems can mean that children may not grow properly and the lung function unit is vitally important in their treatment. The new unit will be designed to help newborn babies right through to teenagers and will provide a modern and spacious environment in which to help children and their families.

Great Ormond Street Hospital treats many thousands of patients each year - children who are suffering from the rarest, most complex and often life-threatening conditions. The NHS funds our day to day core activity but we need extra resources to deliver world class clinical care, research and staff training and this is where your support steps in.

We really appreciate the support and enthusiasm from all the supporters clubs and look forward to working with you for the remainder of the season.

Thank you again for your support, wishing you all the best with your fundraising.

With best wishes,

Joanna

Tirol Gooners Summer Party 2008

The Tirol Gooners Summer Party 2008 is history now! More than 20 members met from July 25th to July 27th in Assling / East Tyrol and had much fun at the dinner with pesentation of pictures and video-clips of Tirol Gooners travelling Europe in the past. On Saturday a local club organised a small field football tournament and 4 teams participated. Every single team had to play 3 games á 20 minutes. Our team CLOCKEND FC did pretty well if you consider the exhausting Friday evening and the fact, that the ground was located 1400 meter over sea.

Result of the tournament
1. Platz      Weisses Ballett  7 points (goal difference: 3:1)
2. Platz      FC Vidrol I          6 points (goal difference: 8:3)
3. Platz      FC Vidrol II         4 points (goal difference: 2:2)
4. Platz      Clockend FC      0 points (goal difference: 2:9)

Clockend FC

We would like to thank once again all attending members & friends, the crew of Gasthof Walter Stub'n and FC Vidrol for organising the football tournament.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Perfect start to the festive fixtures: Emmanuel Adebayor put Arsenal ahead after 48 minutes in the north London derby from a Cesc Fabregas back-heel. Dimitar Berbatov powered home in the 66th minute, then Robbie Keane's penalty was saved by Manuel Almunia after Kolo Toure fouled the Bulgarian. Substitute Bendtner strode on after 76 minutes and turned in Fabregas' corner.

After this important victory we play Portsmouth at Fratton Park on Boxing Day, Everton at Goodison Park on December 29th and there will take place another derby game on Jannuary 1st, when West Ham Utd visit Emirates Stadium.

We take this opportunity of wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year with lots of Arsenal victories of course!
